DLSS 5 Field Guide: What to Measure Before You Enable It

DLSS 5 should not be judged from a single enlarged crop. The useful question is whether a defined scene looks better at the target resolution, remains stable while moving, and justifies its frame-time and latency cost.

Compare the same game build, driver, scene, camera position, output resolution, graphics preset, and capture method. Changing several variables at once can manufacture an apparent win without proving what caused it.

A credible result includes stills and motion captures, frame time, latency, memory use, and visible artifacts. Higher FPS alone does not settle whether the experience improved.

Official demonstrations are useful context, not an independent benchmark. Label the source of every comparison and make the remaining uncertainty explicit.
