Check compatibility before you install

Supported devices and game types
The safest first test is a local, offline Windows game on an RTX card. Prepare one game before installing
Start with one offline game that you can afford to troubleshoot. Close the game, its launcher, and other overlays first. If you already use ReShade, a frame-generation mod, or another DLL-based graphics tool, temporarily disable it so that you can tell which tool caused a problem.

Test the game before tuning it
After installation, launch the game normally and first answer a simple question: does it still start and play? Do not change several graphics settings at once. Compare the same scene, resolution, preset, and camera position so that you can tell whether the new path actually changed the result.
Look at movement rather than one paused screenshot. Watch foliage, hair, thin geometry, reflections, faces, and distant detail while the camera moves. A higher frame rate alone does not prove that the image is better.

Use the in-game overlay when available
